From September to December 2020, we were happy to welcome our interns, Alex Yap, Kelvin Tan, Koay Wan Ern, Logan Chai and Low Chyh Leng to the KLCO family. During their time in their internship, they were tasked to compose an original opera as their final project. Even with the CMCO implemented halfway through their internship, they managed to compose their opera and even present a workshop performance of Kiyoko in KLCO Studio.

With the help of many industry professionals, the interns were guided throughout the process of story writing, libretto writing, music composition and rehearsal process.

Kiyoko is an opera based in ancient Japan where the titular character, Kiyoko, was fated to death since young and how she opposes this fate. Due to the partial lockdown implemented at this time, this workshop performance was done virtually through Zoom to an audience of 50.
