About us

The KL City Opera Chorus, previously the Eat, Sing and Travel (EST) Chorus, is an active chorus group of 50 members consisting of professional and amateur singers who perform annually for KLCO’s opera productions as well as other professional engagements with organisations like Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO), Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) and the Italian Embassy.

Professional gigs

Over the years, the chorus members have been invited to perform in a variety of gigs such as weddings, award ceremonies, musical concerts and more! Notable gigs include:

2023 - MOV Asia’s production of La traviata in collaboration with MPO Orchestra
2021 - Italian Anthem Video Recording to Celebrate Italian National Day
2019 - SLO’s production of Carmen at Esplanade Theatres
2018 - MPO’s production of Russian Bells
2018 - Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Anti-Corruption Excellence Award 2018
2017 - MPO’s production of The Magic Flute

other activities

Apart from professional engagements, the chorus has also taken part in the 16th Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod 2018, an international choir competition held in KL and scored a Gold.

Members of the chorus also often take part in KLCO’s in-house recitals as soloists, singing songs from musicals and patriotic songs.
